Frequently Asked Questions

Is there any other source available for helping answer questions about products to remove specific stains?
Additional help is available by going to www.FabricLink.com.

What is steam cleaning? Is it better?
We use steam (hot water), pressure and a cleaning solution to deep clean carpet down to the backing. The soil as well as the solution is removed immediately using strong suction. Steam cleaning is the most effective method of carpet & upholstery cleaning.

Is it really steam?
No, it is not really steam. Steam is a term used in the carpet and upholstery cleaning industry. We use hot water heated to the appropriate temperature for the most effective cleaning.

What is the difference between the shampoo method and steam cleaning?
With the shampoo method detergents are applied to the surface with a rotary machine. The drawback to this type of cleaning is that it is just a surface cleaning. The other major disadvantage is shampooing leaves a residue on the surface of the carpet. This residue actually attracts more dirt and may, in some cases, damage the fiber.

Steam cleaning, also know as hot water extraction, cleans deep down into the carpet. The carpet is injected with hot water and cleaning solution. Both the water and solution are completely removed by a powerful vacuum leaving no residue to attract more dirt.

How long will it take to dry?
Most of the water is extracted from the carpet during the cleaning process. When finished, the carpet will be damp. You may walk on the carpet immediately after they are cleaned, however, we strongly recommend you wear clean slippers or shoes. Avoid wearing street shoes until the carpets are completely dry to prevent re-soiling. Please allow approximately 6 to 12 hours for drying.

Will water ruin my carpet?
No, water will not ruin carpet. Today carpet is manufactured to be water resistant. In addition, 95% of the water used during the cleaning process is removed by our powerful vacuum.

Can you remove spots & stains?
The cleaning process will remove most spots and stains. We carry additional specialized products for stubborn stains and in most cases we have good results. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee we will remove all spots and stains. However, we do guarantee that if we cannot remove a spot or stain no other cleaner will be able to remove it.
